Snapshots :- An ever growing series of photo's
and words collected from our experiences and
travels from around Australia.
In 2005 having already spent a few holidays in the Outback we decided to give up our jobs in the city and
move there permanently. We stopped being city dwellers and forgot the council
approved plans to renovate our house just so we could keep up with the Jones. So sod it and off we went.
Luckily my partner is a nurse so work for her is easily
obtained. As for me? Well there isn't much call for a Broadcast Officer out there but something always
turns up, and it did. I even became an Outback
Postman for a while on what must be one of the
loniest mail runs in the world.
Now when I look back, I think to myself did we do the right thing? Did we fall behind compared to our city neighbours financially whose names we still don't know even now. No if push comes to shove I know that we can live in a tin shed in Far North Woop Woop in Queensland. You only pass this way once and as the English Nurse says "There's no pockets in shrouds"
